Create & Manage Groups and Subgroups in Kitcast
Managing your digital signage should feel seamless, and Kitcast provides tools to help you organize and optimize your screens effectively. Grouping screens into Parent Groups and Subgroups enables tailored content delivery while maintaining clarity and structure for your network.
Why Use Groups?
Organizing screens into groups and subgroups offers several benefits:
- Targeted Messaging: Deliver the right content to the right screens.
- Simplified Scheduling: Easily manage content playback across different locations or themes.
- Streamlined Organization: Keep screens arranged by location, audience, or purpose.
Subgroups provide an additional layer of control, allowing for even more precise targeting of your content.
How to Create and Manage Groups
Step 1: Access the Dashboard
Log in to the Kitcast Dashboard, where you’ll see a list of your existing groups and subgroups. This is your central hub for managing and organizing your digital signage.
Step 2: Add a New Group
Click the Add Group button and choose one of the following:
- New Group: Create a standalone group for organizing screens. Enter a Group Name and leave the Parent Group field blank.
- Subgroup: Nest a subgroup within an existing group. Enter a Group Name and select a Parent Group from the drop-down menu.
For instance, if you have a group named "Retail Stores," you can create subgroups like "Store A," "Store B," and "Store C" to manage content for each location individually.
Step 3: Assign Screens and Content
Once you’ve created a group or subgroup, it will appear in your list. Select the group to:
- Assign Screens: Connect specific screens to the group. For detailed instruction refer to our guide on How to Assign Playlists to Screens in Kitcast.
- Add Playlists: Upload or assign playlists relevant to the group.
- Manage Schedules: Set when and how content plays for that group or subgroup.
