How to Use the Google Calendar Widget in Kitcast

Adding Your Own Google Calendar to Kitcast
Step 1: Connect Your Google Account
Before adding a calendar, make sure your Google account is connected to Kitcast. Refer to the instructions in this article for detailed steps on linking your account.
Step 2: Add the Google Calendar Widget
Once your Google account is connected, follow these simple steps:
- Navigate to the Kitcast dashboard.
- Select the playlist where you want to add the calendar.
- Open the Widgets section.
- Search for the Google Calendar widget and click to select it:
- Set the duration for how long the calendar should display.
- Choose your connected Google account from the list.
- Select the calendar you want to display and choose the slide type:
Step 3: Save the Widget
Click Done to confirm your changes. The Google Calendar widget will now appear in your playlist.
Sharing a Google Calendar with Kitcast
If someone else needs to share their Google Calendar for display on your Kitcast account, they can follow these steps:
- Open Google Calendar in their browser.
- Go to the calendar’s sharing settings:
- For a detailed walkthrough, visit Google’s support page on sharing calendars or go directly to the sharing settings.
- Under Share with specific people or groups:
- Click Add people and groups.
- Enter the Kitcast account email address.
- Set the appropriate permission level.
- Click Send.
After sharing, the Kitcast account owner will receive an email invitation to add the calendar. They need to click "Add this calendar" in the email to complete the process.
Once the calendar is shared, follow these steps to display it:
- Go to the Kitcast dashboard.
- Choose the playlist.
- Open the Widgets section.
- Search for the Google Calendar widget.
- Select the shared calendar from the list.
